Don't worry if it sounds complex, here we will explain step by step how to set up a view that allows you to download the records of a table in a CSV file.
1. Access point configuration
First, we will set up an access point that will direct us to the SmartView with the table and its records when selected. This access point will include a URL that already defines one or more filters, which will prevent you from explicitly setting filters on the table. This way, the table will be automatically filtered according to the parameters provided in the link.
a) Access point details:
Predefined URL: The URL will contain the necessary filters in its structure, allowing for greater flexibility and customization in data visualization.
b) Automatic redirection:
By selecting the access point, the user will be directed directly to the SmartView configured with the filtered table.
2. SmartView Configuration
Using the wizard, we will configure a SmartView that will integrate three main abilities: HTML for the header, a table to display the filtered data and another HTML for a download button.
a) HTML Skill 1 (heading)
This skill is used to design an attractive header for the SmartView, which forms the title and provides some additional information to help users understand the purpose of the view.
b) Table skills
We will configure the table to display with the filters provided through the link. This implies:
- Incorporation of filters:
The table will be configured to accept and apply filters directly from the URL.
- Dynamic visualization:
The data will be displayed dynamically, updating automatically according to the filters applied.
c) HTML 2 Skill (download button)
We will design a button that says "DOWNLOAD". This ability will include an AOD, configured in such a way that, when activated by end-user click, it will allow downloading a CSV file with the table data.
3. AOD (Automaton On Demand) Configuration
The AOD will be linked to the HTML skill where the "DOWNLOAD" button is located. Its configuration will involve the following steps:
a) Functionalities of the AOD:
- Step 1. Search for records: It will perform a search in the database using the filters provided by the link.
- Step 2. Conversion to CSV: Will convert the search results to a CSV file.
- Step3. URL generation: Will create a download URL for the generated CSV file.
b) ODA implementation:
-
- Dynamic query: The AOD will execute a query in the database, according to the filter parameters.
- CSV creation: The data obtained will be converted into a CSV file, ready to be downloaded.
- Download Response: The URL generated for the CSV download will be the AOD response, this will allow the user to download the file directly.
With this detailed configuration, you will enable users to view and download the records of a table in CSV format in an efficient and simple way, facilitating its management and analysis in tools such as Excel.
